People are talking about BOOTS...

It seems that our latest production, the docu-drama Boots on the Ground, has been all the buzz in the local papers and on the airwaves!

The play was reviewed in today's Boston Globe and Providence Journal and was the topics of both Bob Kerr's Rhode Island column and Sheila Lennon's Subterranean Homepage News blog. Yesterday's talk radio was buzzing  - especially over on 920 WHJJ  - as both Howie Barte and Arlene Violet chatting with their listeners about their reaction to the play and the lively post show talk backs with audiences.  WRNI radio ran a great story this morning and Cox's new TV show hosted by Mary Lou Palumbo "New England Accent" is running a segment on Boots all this month.

The play seems to be striking a chord with people - which was the intent from the very beginning. As the show's director and co-writer Laura Kepley told us - they set out to "not ask you to agree or disagree but to listen and join the discussion". Well Laura, we are pleased to report that since the play opened on Wednesday night, people are talking ... and it has started quite the conversation.

POLL: Top three plays that make me want to drop everything and run to the theater to get a ticket

So in anticipation of doing Hamlet here next month I was trolling around the internet reading this-n-that about the troubled Danish darling and I came across the statement many times that Hamlet was “arguably the best-known play in the English language" and that started me thinking - "okaaay, let's have that argument!" and to take it to the next level  - I am going to pose it this way –

What are YOUR top three plays? The ones that when you hear the name you immediately think "ooh....I would love to see that!…Who’s doing it?? When??”

So yes, thanks ever so much for asking, I will start off the debate:

Top three plays that make me want to drop everything and run to the theater to get a ticket:

1. Evita (maybe it’s because I’m just a closeted “diva dictator?")

2. Mame (yes, yes yes, there is a somewhat of a musical theme here – I just love ‘em, I’ll admit it freely!)

3. Macbeth
