"Hi. I'm sad that Christmas Carol is over. I don't want it to end. I liked making people laugh when I danced at the end of each show. I'll miss Nick doing Superman to me. I'll miss Charlie - he's funny. I'll miss Fred - he likes my acting. I'll miss Mr.Columbus because he laughs at the jokes I tell him. Thank you to all the people who helped on the show. I liked you all. I hope I'll see you again. Happy New Year! Love, Max"

Sunday around 40 family and friends came to the play, they gave me a standing ovation and it felt special even though they were the only ones who stood! My little cousin Mary left during the 1st scene because she got scared. I tried to warn her….Marley is good! I can’t believe we only have 2 more weeks of shows! I will miss all the cast members, we become like “family” during rehearsals and plays, someday I hope to go to Brown like Jason, Rama and Morgan and participate in Trinity’s Christmas Carol, and maybe become a member of the company….For now life is GREAT being a 11 year old, going to school, playing basketball and performing while waiting for Christmas around the corner! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! “God Bless Us All….Everyone!”

"We have shows almost every day. Last Saturday, Daddy did a happy cry on his birthday when I did the robot dance at the end of the show. Fred cracked up. He's Mr. Cratchit. Then the other night someone in the chorus had her grandmother coming, and so she asked me to do a special dance for her. I did a dance for her grandmother that I call the duck. Fred pretended I was a puppet and moved his hands up and down. All of my grandparents and my great gramma are coming to see me and my sister, Haley, who is in the chorus on the 16th and the 24th...Nana Kate, Papa Rob, Gramma Gail, Papa Jim and Great, Great, Gramma Jane (she gets two greats because she is great). They are all driving from Florida. They want to see the robot dance. I don't think I'll get in trouble. I think I can change my dance move, but not anything else. Have a Merry Christmas!"

This week everyone has the hang of things, and the play is going smooth. Since its December the crowd is getting bigger and better, I think more people are in the sprit of the season! I really enjoy every play. People always ask if I am tired of doing the same thing for every play…but I’m not! I get excited for each and every play and want to do my best for the audience that has come to see it. I guess that is what they mean when they say “It has to be in your blood” I really love what I do and feel lucky to be able to be working at Trinity with such wonderful people! Enjoy the show….Fa La La La La La La La Laaaa…..!!!

"Shows have been going pretty well. One daytime show had teenage people that clapped even though the show was not done. They were clapping all the time at everything.
And sometimes backstage one of the actors named Nick who is taller than anyone does Superman to me. He lifts me up on my belly and I fly across the room and spring into action. Nick is awesome!
At the end of the show on the Deck the Halls song I get to do a little dance with my elbows and knees. But, when it is my dad's birthday on Saturday I want to do the robot dance after the elbow dance. I think that Mr. Columbus will say, "Rock on.""

Saturday was my first show. My dad said good luck so I told him that’s not what they say in the theater they say “Break A Leg”. Luckily I didn’t “break my leg” but we did have a good show! My family said the play was great, different from last year with great special effects and beautiful costumes. Wednesday is my 1st Project Discovery Play and my whole middle school is going! I’m a little nervous but excited to see what they have to say. With an awesome cast and people behind the scenes to make everything work smooth I’m sure they will like it! Rehearsals are over now it is just the plays, everyone should try to go to this years Christmas Carol!

"Friday was opening night. I felt good. I was NOT nervous. On Sunday night Scrooge's zipper on his pants broke. What a poor, little lad. It was so funny. Today we did the show for lots of school kids. It was really, really early in the day. I got out of school at 9:13 and then went to Trinity. After the show when the kids were in the buses I waved at them and they were screaming, "Tiny Tim. Tiny Tim." I laughed. My dad got pizza for me and Bobby. My Dad ate two pieces. I drank some diet coke and then had rehearsal until four o'clock. After, Bobby's mom took us to the library and we met with a reporter from a paper in Barrington. I'm tired. I'm having Chinese food and going to bed."

School, homework then rehearsals from about 4 to 9:30-Busy but FUN! Tonight was our tech dress rehearsal, we run through the play with costumes adjusting the sound and lights to make sure everything runs smooth. We worked with the chorus for the 1st time. There are so many talented people who make this play work behind the scenes. The play is amazing; I can’t wait till our first show, Saturday, Nov 25 @ 2pm. There is something special about doing it for the audience and seeing their reaction for all the hard work we do. J Happy Thanksgiving!

"Funny things happened during rehearsal this week. First, Mr.Columbus was directing a scene. I was at the door and I open it and I run around the desk and then Scrooge gets out a coal shovel, chases and screams at us and we scream back and then run out the door.
Later in another scene Mr.Columbus said that Rhode Islanders say Martin like Maa'in because they forget the R and T, but, I don't. It was a really late night rehearsal. I was happy being up past my bedtime. I didn't get to watch TV at all that day which was really weird. I'm doing my homework before rehearsals for Mrs.August. She's my teacher. She's excited to come and see me in the show! Oh, I'm in Holly Green if you want to get tickets."

This production of The Christmas Carol is GREAT! All the adults are so kind, Eric and Kate the child coordinators are the best.
Tonight at rehearsal we went on the stage for the first time and rehearsed all the Cratchit scenes and requiem. It is good to run through the play on stage, as much as you study the lines they really seem to stick when you are in place!
Although the story is the same this production is unique, it has puppets and a children’s chorus! I have done this for the past two years and it is great to see a new point of view! It is amazing how everything comes together, everyone should try to come and see it ….you won’t be disappointed!

The other day we went for a costume fitting. You put on your costume and see how it looks and feels. The Tiny Tim costume was comfy. The Young Scrooge costume was kind of really made out of paper...maybe because it was in the olden days. It was a little bit scratchy and had lots of pins.
Today at rehearsal it was just the same old stuff; which is knowing our lines. Only the Holly Green cast had rehearsal today. The Ivy adult cast watched us. They said, "Good for you Max." We went through the whole play in the rehearsal hall. It was awesome! -Max Theroux (Tiny Tim and Young Scrooge)
1. It's hard to get in to Christmas Carol. We had to read two scripts and have a call back. 2. I don't like how rehearsals take four hours. It was so long and there were only four breaks. The actors are nice. 3. I want to be famous and run my own show and make up my own play. I want to be like Mr. Columbus. 4. People want to see you...not just me, but the other people too. You don't want to make a mistake on your lines. I've been practicing my lines a lot. 5. We get candy at rehearsal and Curt Columbus was nice. He told every kid that they were a good actor. 6. I had to memorize my lines at my house. We couldn't use our scripts today to look at our lines. We just had to memorize. In the rehearsal hall we said our lines with no script. I did very well. On Wednesday we get to go on stage. 7. Oh, and Scrooge sounds like the real Scrooge on the Muppets.

Hi, my name is Destinee and I am in Holly Red for A Christmas Carol. I have been working on my lines and I also have been working on where I stand in the play. I have met a lot of new people this year. I am working with different people this year since I have done this twice in the past and it is very different this year...but I still like it. I like it because you get to learn more things about acting and I like to act. I like to meet new people. I also like that while I'm riding around I see the billboard of A Christmas Carol and then I tell my mom, "Oh look at my show!" It also gets me up on a higher level because I want to be on T.V and much bigger things. Hey, I just love to act. I love when I do something, the audience claps. I don't know; I just do. I even hope to have an award for acting.
When I first heard of Trinity Rep I didn't know what it was about. Then I saw a show at Trinity and that made me want to act. That's why I think I like to act. It's like Trinity Rep inspired me to act. Every time I leave a practice or a show I learn more things about acting from watching the adults such as, not to let the audience know when you make a mistake, you can make acting your way, and that you can make acting fun.
What do I like about acting in a performance? Well I like that when you are done with the acting all you hear is clapping and people screaming about you. That's what I like about performances. To tell you the truth, I even have a poster in my room from last year's A Christmas Carol signed by everybody in the cast. Since this is my last time in A Christmas Carol, I don't want to forget anybody at Trinity because they inspired me to be an actress and I mean everything I said just now.
